Mural Design
Project Brief:
Create a Mural for the Design studio at UTS. Explore how you can communicate an atmosphere and tone that will add to the experience in the studio space. Consider how a mural be used to create a sense of connection, belonging and motivation in the studio space.
Being assigned to create a mural seemed like a daunting task at first, but when diving into the brief it became clear that I could have a lot of fun. Designing for a space that I had personally spent so much time in made the process of coming up with a concept quite intuitive. A space like the 5a design studio is one of structure and discipline but also creation and play. To communicate this contrast, I utilised a grid interlaced with hand-scrawled text. Experimenting with the types of grids and arrangement of the hand drawn elements was a huge part of my process.
